CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

An exciting new position has emerged with Cappagh Hospital Foundation (The Charitable Fundraising arm of Cappagh National Orthopaedic Hospital in Finglas, Dublin 11) for a CEO to join the team for an initial 12-month contract working part-time 3 full days per week. The prime focus of this role will be to ensure the success of the fundraising function and to manage and support 3 staff and the overall operation of the Foundation.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Working in collaboration with the Chairperson and the Board of the Foundation, the primary responsibility of this person is to lead the organisation
  • Working closely with the staff and board members experience/expertise and contact base, you will successfully devise and implement the 2017-2020 fundraising strategy
  • Lead on the continued integration of CHF’s fundraising, marketing and communications functions
  • Drive brand awareness initiatives and marketing campaigns to ensure targets and objectives are met
  • Deliver corporate and other regular and new fundraising initiatives to ensure targets and objectives are met
  • Deliver on agreed income targets and manage relationships with a portfolio of existing supporters and develop new contacts to increase funds
  • Overall responsibility for the day-to-day operational management of the organisation
  • Manage and motivate staff to perform to a high standard
  • Ensure all fundraising, marketing and corporate fundraising activity is carried out in line with best practice and charity law
  • Responsibility for best practice with respect to governance, administration, communication, financial, programme and people management
  • Provide regular financial reporting to the Board

Required Skills:

  • Significant track record of strategic fundraising (events, grants, corporate, major donors) marketing and communications management
  • Proven ability to build, manage and develop key stakeholder relationships
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Proven track record of meeting challenging income targets and securing partners and sponsors

Desired Qualifications / Experience:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in relevant area
  • Minimum 10 years experience including 5 years in a senior role in fundraising with a proven track record of meeting financial targets and delivering significant income growth
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Previous Board reporting experience, strong budgeting capability
  • Proven experience in leading and implementing successful marketing campaigns (online and offline)

Salary will be negotiable depending on level of relevant experience.
